Mission Statement:

Our mission is to empower students to become outstanding citizens by providing, infrastructure, education and opportunities to build on the spirit of our rich Indian, Hindu cultural heritage including values of love, compassion, service and respect, to be able to inculcate the best of the Eastern and Western values while making, informed decisions resulting in a strong and united family unit and community.

History:

Gurukul was started on Sep 7th, 2007. By God’s grace, Gurukul has expanded over years and currently have four classes for age groups 3 to 12. Each year on average Gurukul has 90 kids enrolled.

Modus Operandi:

Gurukul is 100 % run by volunteers with support of Shri Mandir Exec. Committee/ Board of Trustees and Honorable Punditjis.

Gurukul offers three classes:
  • Bal Krishna Varg (3 to 5 year old)-1 Class

  • Yugal Krishna Varg (5 to 8 year old)-2 Classes

  • Gopala Krishna Varg (8 to 12 year old)-1 Class

Classes are held every Sunday morning, 2 classes take place between 9-10 AM and 2 classes between 10-11 AM.
“Gurukul” is designed to promote, instill, and foster Indian culture in children of ages 3 and above. The program includes activities such as prayers, teachings of Indian culture, studies of values from the Indian epics like Mahabharata, Ramayana, Bhagvata Purana and exposure to Hitopadesha, Panchatantra, lives of great India Preceptors etc. Gurukul children also participate in local community activities. Classes are facilitated in English.

In addition to curriculum, following activities take place based on age group:
  • Quiz competition

  • Shloka competition

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Annual Day function (skits, shloka recitation, musicals, Bhajan recitation)
